This e-mail is to provide you with a bit of information to set your visit to our studio up for success! I appreciate you reading it fully!
Please carve out some time to read and sign our new electronic waiver. (Password is mousse) You may do this anytime (right now is a great time!!) before your visit.
A word on illness: Please only bring your child if you are both healthy. Classes are non-refundable however are fully transferable to any child for your convenience. Please just let me know if any changes need to be made.
Please dress for mess and have your child wear old clothes. Aprons are available to protect clothing and most of what we will be working with will be water soluble and should wash out with relative ease--however it would be nice for you and your child to be able to relax any concerns about getting messy. It would also be wise to bring an extra set of clothes for your child to change into after our session together to ensure that all mess and water stays at the studio. You and your child will be asked to remove your shoes at the door and place them in the set of cubbies behind the door.
As some of the children in the studio have allergies to nuts (including peanuts, cashews, pistachios etc.) if you plan to bring a snack for your child for either before or after class, please keep it nut free. Having a labeled water bottle on hand is always a good idea.
The address for Mousse Children's Art Studio is Unit 202 - 8408 Elbow Drive SW. When you arrive you will find a few surface stalls out front and additional covered parking underneath the building, especially if your visit is on a weekend. Take the staircase at the south end of the building up to the second floor, and you will find Mousse Children's Art Studio at the second door on the left hand side. Over the lunch hour the parking lot can get quite busy. There are spots available across the street at Haysboro Plaza if you are having difficulty finding a spot.
Just a reminder that all of our classes are parented. Each registered child may bring just ONE accompanying adult. I appreciate you following this to help alleviate crowding in the studio. Should you not be able to stick to this guideline, the second parent will be charged an additional $35. If you have registered siblings, each sibling may bring one adult at no additional cost. In addition, all children over 12 months old are considered to be a plus one and will need to have been registered. If you must bring an unregistered child along that is over 12 months due to unforeseen circumstances, please bring an additional $35. Please leave all car seats in your vehicle.
We want parents to join in our community, but ask that the child always lead the way when engaging in the creative process. Please note that there may be small parts in the studio and we therefore ask that parents supervise children at all time.
As far as general rules, we try very hard for Mousse to be a "yes" space! Chances are, if a behaviour is safe and respectful, your child is able to do it! A few guidelines to remember: please clean your child before they leave any of the painting provocations, and please try to have your children leave objects and materials within the general space and room that they were first found. You can assist us in maintaining the aesthetics and safety of our beautiful space by letting me know if anything gets soiled or broken.
There will be lots of opportunities for fantastic photos. When taking photos, please only take distinguishing photos of your own children unless you have explicit permission from the parent. This is especially important when posting. If you wish to post to any social media accounts we would love your help in promoting process art to everyone in our community by tagging us.
